Defense of Marriage

There’s a fun article over at Slate about the foolishness of the American Right’s (and Centre’s) opposition to gay marriage (stemming from the Mass.

Supreme Court’s judgement), and their desire for a constitutional ammendment to further their goals.

It’s funny because it’s true, y’see. On this topic, Jon Stewart has been quite vocal, devoting a few minutes a couple of weeks ago, pointing out the divorce stats of some of the major proponents of the ammendment, and then last night, went so far as to grill (in a Jon Stewart-ish way) Tom Daschle about said same, which was quite intriguing --- it’s the first time I’ve see JS be so … journalistic.

Perhaps that recent Harper’s article about a progressive talk show is affecting him…
